I enrolled in Better Pictures with Joe during January of 2026. I thought it would be great to interact with other photographers and learn from such a renowned photographer. It has been so much more! Joe is not only such an amazing photographer, he is an amazing human being with such a great ability to teach. We don’t just learn “how to, ”we learn why. More importantly, we learn how to think as a photographer. Joe vocalizes everything that goes through his head when approaching and conducting a photoshoot. I have learned so much through my time in the program, from telling a story with a photo, to effective planning and preparation for a photoshoot long before you arrive. 
Joe doesn’t just teach; he mentors and supports his students. He is an open book and will answer any question, and always in a way to build you up. Along with Joe, Annie Cahill has a wealth of knowledge, and she is also available for any questions and makes the experience so pleasant and rewarding.
This program provides the opportunity to learn alongside other amazing photographers. Photography is so often a solo activity, so it was wonderful to share in this experience with photographers equally as passionate as I am. Everyone embraces this program whole-heartedly and is always there to help and encourage others. 
I can honestly say that I have had great life changing moments because of this program. I have learned a new way of thinking when there is a camera in my hands. I have captured images in a way that I never imagined. Most importantly, these images have impacted those on the other end of my lens in a positive way, and for this and so much more I will always be grateful to Joe for providing me with this opportunity to grow through Better Pictures.
